MDF shutters are very popular in homes across the UK. MDF stands for medium density fibreboard and it can be ideal as a material for your shutters. The Window Shutter Company has a range of shutters made from MDF which is also known as LDF (or low density fibreboard), so if you’re interested in a new installation in your home, don’t hesitate to get in touch.
Why choose MDF shutters?
If you’re looking for shutters with fantastic looks, high build quality and cost effective prices, MDF could be perfect for you. Our MDF shutters offer excellent value for money while still being durable and easy to maintain – MDF does not warp out of shape and retains a very consistent look, and you can wipe it clean with minimal fuss.
MDF is very handsome too; it would difficult for anyone other than those with a trained eye to notice the difference between these shutters and hardwood options.
One of our most popular products, the Seattle shutters are made entirely from LDF with a polymer coated finish. Available in five different shades of white, the material is both highly durable and requires very little maintenance. Our Seattle shutters have the lowest price point of any of the products that we offer, but boast a high quality and premium appearance. They are perfect in contemporary homes and have an easy-cleaning surface too.
Unlike the Seattle shutters, our Georgia shutters are not made entirely of MDF. In this product the stiles or rails are LDF while the louvers are made from ABS (Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene) with a paint finish. This means that they look just as good as hardwood shutters but are far more durable and are available at a lower price.
The high quality finish is robust and requires little maintenance – you can easily wipe the shutters clean. These shutters are also available in a wide variety of colours so they can work with almost any style or colour scheme within your home.
