Project Details

This is an installation of ours in Cuckfield, West Sussex, which we completed September 2016.

It’s a stunning example of how shutters perfectly suit, and finish off, the look of a new build property.

We were asked to install shutters to many of the windows in the house, including to the patio doors which opened out onto the back garden as the client wanted to achieve both privacy and light control.

The shutters throughout were in our Montana full hardwood, product. This is a robust, smooth grained and stylish hardwood option. The client opted for Easy-Tilt which is the hidden tilt control mechanism which operates the louvers/slats – this created cleaner lines in this new build house.

The style is Full Height. The patio doors had to have a mid-rail due to their height as this reinforces the panel. Other windows had the hidden tilt split option – this essentially means that the top section of the louvres operate independently of the bottom. So, in a bedroom for example, you could keep the bottom two thirds closed in the morning while you are getting dressed but have the top third open to flood the room with light.

The louver/slat size is 63mm – without doubt, our most popular louvre option. It provides the perfect balance of privacy and light, hence why so many customers opt for it.

As you can see from the image below, this property had a lovely box bay window to the front aspect. Shutters are ideal for a bay like this and offer a much more practical solution than curtains. You retain the functionality of the bay, and the room doesn’t lose any feeling of size.

We were thrilled with the end result created at this property. Our client was too, and here is what he had to say about us.
