Most shaped windows are a feature of the property, but how to dress them can be a real head-scratcher.
Shutters are ideal for all shaped windows as they can be designed to follow the lines or curves of the window and retain its shape and character.
We were called into a renovated Docklands warehouse where our client had a large arched top window in their bedroom that they wanted to dress.
We opted for an 89mm louvre with hidden tilt control to maximise light but also to create better closure at night. Using a T post in the centre of the window, the shaped panels can butterfly into the centre to access the window. Bear in mind that hinging on the outside of a curved window will mean the panels would hit the reveal and not open.
Using a silk white paint finish to complement the existing paintwork, our Boston Premium (hardwood) shutters look as if they have always been fitted in this window.
