Our current lead time from order is approximately 15-17 weeks but this is subject to change due to the current shipping problems that are affecting many industries and countries around the globe.
Pre pandemic, we would have been posting this sort of reminder in September. But in the past 12 months, we have had to contend with the fall out from the pandemic, Brexit and the Suez Canal blockage. The pandemic alone has had far reaching consequences for importers from the Far East and as all of our shutters are made to order in China, this is impacting the shutter industry as much as others. Despite Covid restrictions easing here in the UK, disruption to global transportation services continues and shows little sign of easing at the time of writing.
The ongoing issues consist of 3 major pressure points:
- Less vessels in service worldwide
- Container shortages
- Delays at container ports here in the UK
Recent localised lockdowns in China, due to a surge in Covid cases, has added to the problems when there was a temporary closure of the 4th largest port in the world. The backlog of containers that stacked up in the Port of Yantian could be seen from space which indicates the level of problems & congestion that it created!
All of this said, we monitor the status of our orders continually and stay in touch with our customers. And it goes without saying that we will install your shutters at the very earliest opportunity.
