Porthole windows are not really that common, but what can you do to create privacy and control the light when you actually have one?
Shutters are the answer! We can design shutters to fit any shape window that your architect or designer might come up with, and sometimes the results are even better than we could imagine (and we always know they are going to look amazing!).
A client we’d installed shutters for previously had one remaining window to dress in their period townhouse in Brighton. A large round window in a child’s bedroom on the top floor needed attention and we discussed several options.
Curtains had never looked good and blinds just covered the shape, so we designed a shutter that was a little different.
Using a 63mm louvre, we split the circle in half with a horizontal T post so that the panels could be folded to access the window. A centre tilt rod connected the horizontal louvres and a Z frame gave us the ability to hide the uneven plaster work.
The end result is both stylish and functional.
