If you are looking to fit a blackout blind behind shutters, that are already in place, there will need to be sufficient space behind the shutters to retro fit the blind. You will need a minimum of approximately 60mm to facilitate installation of a blind solution.
If you do not currently have shutters, we would highly recommend our shutters with an integrated blind solution which offer excellent light closure which is even more effective than shutters and a separate blind. The integrated blind sits in a purpose built extension to the shutter frame behind the shutters and is hidden by the top rail of the panels when not in use. Whilst actual ‘blackout’ is almost impossible, this combination of shutter and integrated blind should satisfy anyone looking for near darkness and offers the best light closure of any window dressing we have seen.
